Mountain Chalet from true Karelian wood... In Georgia

We dreamed of a true chalet for our home base in the Georgian Mountains. However, there is neither the culture nor the wood to build our dream wooden house in Gudauri.

Impossible is nothing.

Our house is built from Karelian wood, also known as "Kelo" House. This particular pine dries in specific regions of Karelia—swamps, exposed to the wind, and frozen by the northern climate. As a result, this pine is very dense, hard, and hardly shrinks over time.

The color of the pine is mostly grey, which gives the house a unique appearance and atmosphere.

It took us two years to source the wood, build the house in Saint Petersburg with Russian craftsmen, and deliver it to Gudauri using five lorries. There is certainly no other house like ours in Gudauri and probably in all of Georgia.

The total area is 450 sqm.

It consists of three floors: the first floor has an apartment for four guests, including a bedroom, a living room (with a small kitchen), a bathroom, and a sauna.

The second floor has two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a spacious living room with a kitchen, and a large veranda, accommodating four to six guests.

The third floor features a bedroom, a bathroom, and a small living room, providing extra space for two guests.
We can host 10 to 12 guests, depending on whether you are willing to use the living rooms as bedrooms.
